Ladies and Gentlemen! We have a new driver!!! =)

29th Oct, Monday at 8.30am! That is indeed the worst timing one can get for a driving test!!
Well, how very unfortunate, the challenge doesnt just stop that. It is in the waiting room where the test route was drawn; where i realize i have just hit the Jackpot (route 6 - the most difficult route out of 10 routes) Man, if i tell u i wasnt nervous, then i am definitely lying!

So with all these kind of circumstances, i am on the road with all those monday-bluers. The trafficis heavy (filtering is crazy), have to watch out for bus lane...etc.

And it is the moment of truth, despite various challenging circumstances.... i passed !!!!!!!!! So Happy! =) it is my 1st and last try!!!

Wow.. driving can certainly be fun!

Just went for my first driving lesson (Private of course.. )
For the 1st lesson, i learn moving off, stopping, left turn, right turn, U turn AND the most exciting part is, At the end of my 1st driving lesson, my instructor asked me to drive on PUBLIC ROAD already!!!! That is so cool ! i drove all the way from the training area to my house with a little guidance from my instructor of course (Yo it is still e 1st lesson.. how proficient you want me to be!) Anyway, that is not the mainpoint. The point here is i have drove on public road already!!! =)

It is the season of Durian !!!!

If you happen to pass by any of the jungle area like the Lorong Asrama near the Mandai area, you will be welcome by a gentle fragrance of Durians!!!!

You may wonder how do i know, (i dont eat durian so... that definitely wont make me a durian hunter). Again why will i know ? Haha.. that is because i do medical cover there! i have witnessed durian falling from above .. (take cover!!!)

So here's a shout out to all the durian lover out there, if you are looking for a Free treat, try your luck in some of the Jungle area in Singapore NOW!

Almighty June

The beginning of the month of June marks the the end of May - not only the month of May itself but hopefully something more devilish! Fortunately, the month of May has passed by 12 times faster than the year of pig does. Not that i have a problem with the year of pig or month of May, but this deadly combination of the month May during the year of pig seems to waken the evil in the devil. Well a perfect time to hire a devil hunter - big mistake for one to believe one can handle the devil oneself.

For the first time, the devil has become physically tangiable , apart from their usual pop up above your head with an angel confronting.

Devil used to say:" Whaha, you can run, but you can't hide!".

But, won't it be more fearful if you can hide, but can't run. It's like a doom waiting to be unfolded!

In the month of May...

"Too little time... to do too many things..." -> Breakdown!

"Too much time... to do too little things.." -> Breakdown!

Ok, so let's break it down.

Time is a essential resource required in the execution of task.
However, time is a limited resource.

And as such, scarcity results.

The value of time depends on the amount of tasks that is waiting to be executed.

VT Killing!

All I can said is that it is a tragedy for all parties! (Those who have died, the victims' family, the college, the society, etc...)

Life can be complicated !

Life can indeed be very complicated...
One who is fearless can too be in fear of something at the same time. For instance, a warrior who fought fearlessly in a war is more in fear of lossing democracy to perhaps captialism than his own life.
It is the same irony as how the price of peace can be very bloody.

Global Warming !

The latest issue of the TIME magazine has highlighted the impact and the need for attention to the global phenomenon of global warming. It is not a new issue (which means that it has been around for some time probably because we are not doing enough to solve the problem or we might have problem solving it) which in turn make it a big issue now!

In this issue, it has suggested some 51 ways in which an individual or a community can help to reduce the effect of global warming, mainly through the reduction of CO2 emission. (Fair considering that CO2 makes up 80% of the total greenhouse gases)

Though i find some suggestions constructive and feasible, others are more theoretical or even repetitive of one other.

Personally, i do concern about the development this global phenomenon. Yah... i mean it is going to be an effect by the global community. And for the whole world to both agree and abey to an issue is definitely not going to be an easy task. (considering there are so many people with so many perspectives and special interests, it is difficult to believe and yet to monitor that nobody plays cheat) Things just get more complicated when more people are involved. But hentataki (march on spot) on the spot is not an option. What should we do ? Pretty tough question to answer.

The search for the answer carries on...

The Arena (Grand Final)

Notion: The youth today are LESS PREPARED for their future than their parent's generation.
Proposition: Hwa Chong Institution
Opposition: United world college

Well i must confessed that the United world college deserved to win. I like the style in which they have presented their case; their charm were of the top class. Points wise, they have a clearer direction of what they are arguing for as compared to Hwa Chong. Besides that, the United world college is more supreme and comfortable in their mastery of the language.

Now some opinion of mine on the notion itself:
Firstly, i must say that Hwa Chong do have quite a few good points in which they failed to put together to support their stand on the notion. For example: Factors such as skill, knowledge and attitude that is deemed to be (COMMON) issues which both generations face. However, what they have failed to put up a good fight on these Great points is that they did not set a COMMON PLATFORM for the two generations to be compared effectively on. And those 3 factors mentioned above could very well be the common factors faced by both generations when trying to establish a common platform for them to compared. This is the key to link back to the notion that one party is LESS (this is the keyword we consider) Prepared than the other. Now the Hwa Chong has touched on the point but failed to make an explicit case on it. (which I find rather unfortune) They shld never make any assumption that the opposition or the audience understand what they are trying to imply between the lines. Being very explicit is the way to kill the opponent when they tried to smoke through, esp. you know that they are very persuasive and charming in giving audience impressions. (Don't give them the chance to do that!)

Secondly, on debating tatics. We do get nervous and tongue tied sometimes but that shld not occur too freq. Eye contact is one of the key factors. For Hwa Chong, I find speaker no. 2 has a better style than the other 2 debaters.

Overall, i see great potential lies ahead for all the debaters from both parties. I hope you all find my comments helpful. =)

"Talking In Bed"

Raffles hotel is a nice venue to held the play. Excellent choice =) As for the play, it is not bad. There are as always - rooms for improvement. Overall, it is a meaningful event considering it is a charity work for the KKH children! =)
